Meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month at 8 pm at the Charnock Richard Football Club, Charter Lane, Charnock Richard, PR7 5LZ. This consists of a short, meeting and any news from HQ then a good old natter about motorcycles usually. We also hold regular events throughout the year and welcome new members and visitors from other sections to the club. Our youngest member is 18 and our oldest won't say! Machines vary in age, style, condition and capacity from 50cc to 1000cc, which makes for a nice eclectic mix of motorcycles.
Our aim is to actively encourage the use of old motorcycles ( 25 years or older ), in the company of like-minded souls. We do this through our meetings and organised runs and with the help and support of our members.
Chairman Steve Parker
Steve Joined the VMCC in 1997, and took over from the previous Chairman, Graham Bretherton, in 2011.
"Started riding in 1962 (age 10) on a Victoria Vickie moped field bike. Went through most Villiers powered 1950's bikes plus Bantams until age 16 when I made my debut on an FB Plover, passing my test shorly afterwards on an Arrow. Since I was still at school and had no money, I quickly learned how to use a hammer and chisel, It all went down hill after that."
"Leyland's Chequered Flag, Dragon Rallies, Northwest Marshall Association and numerous old nails followed until marriage in 1974. Then no bikes really until my kids took up Motocross 15 years later and then the old addiction resurfaced. Still married to Jean despite all this, now have 10 bikes, most in use, some even reliable."
"Marque soft spots; S series Sunbeam, M series BSA, Specials"
"Special interests; building bikes out of accumulated rubbish, putting engines where they were never intended to be, sidevalves, not cleaning bikes."
"Couldn't be without; oily rags, elastoplast and ibuprofen gel, hammers"
Secretary Adrian Such
Adrian took over the Secretarial duties in September 2012.
